Dover is located in the South East of England in White Cliffs Country, Kent.  Famous for The White Cliffs of Dover. Originally the port of Dover was built to repel invasions from across the channel but today it is an all year-round destination for those taking in the spectacular scenic walks and beaches. Dame Vera Lynn famously sang about of the White Cliffs of Dover, capturing the hearts of the British listening public, forever linking it with the Second World War with a message of hope to both civilians and servicemen and women.

As one of the warmest places in the UK, no wonder it’s a popular destination. Boasting around 22% of the region designated as an ‘Area of Outstanding beauty,’ with everything from castles, museums and a Tudor artillery fortress to water sports, it has something for everyone.

The Cruise Ship port in Dover has three terminals, Terminal 2 is the largest and all are based at the Western docks. There is no shuttle service from the train station which is over a mile away, but it is only a five-minute taxi ride to the terminal.
